The Aftermath of Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton left a path of destruction marked by shattered homes and displaced families. For many low-income homeowners, the storm was more than just a natural disaster; it was a life-altering event threatening their safety.
In the aftermath, we have been in an urgent need for support. Families expressed worries about not just their homes but their emotional well-being as well. Many faced tough challenges, including financial strain and uncertainty about repairs. Here at Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, our team is working hard and is ready to make a difference.
Who is Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay?
Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is a nonprofit focused on providing critical home repairs and renovations for low-income homeowners. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and healthy home. RTTB prioritizes the most vulnerable members of our community, ensuring that no one is overlooked, especially after severe events like Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
We mobilize volunteers, skilled tradespeople, and community partners to tackle home repair projects efficiently. We not only restore homes but also rejuvenate hope for homeowners striving to rise above adversity.
RTTB's Response to Hurricane Milton
When Hurricane Helene and Milton struck, RTTB quickly began organizing disaster recovery efforts. We established a network to assess damage and identify homeowners needing assistance. We recruited volunteers and partners to get Hurricane Relief Kits out into the community as soon as possible.
The Good Morning America segment captured our CEO Jose Garcia visiting homeowners whose homes are in need of repairs and roof replacements following the storm. We are well on our way to get these homeowners they help they need not only to fix the damage but to ensure that their home is more prepared for the next hurricane season.
